Today we will be in 2nd Samuel Ch 2 looking at David, who will soon be king, and mourning the death of Saul, his father in law, and Jonathan, his brother in law. David has fasted, wept, prayed and I’m sure still hurting. When someone close to us passes from this life, there is really nothing that will stop the grief. But David did the right thing He turned to God in his time of grief. We will see that God will get him through it. As new testament believers we know to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, 2nd Corinthians 5:8. And we don’t mourn as those who have no hope, 1st Thessalonians 4:13, but we mourn. Draw close to Jesus through these troubling times. He won the battle and conquered death. Revelation 1:5, 1st Corinthians 15:55-57.
