Today we continue our journey through 2nd Samuel. We will be in Chapter 6. David has put together a great team of people to bring the ark of the covenant with Israel. There is a major problem with what is happening. David did not seek counsel from God and he is doing things his own way. As we dive into this passage we will see that David had them carrying the ark wrong, the people carrying it were wrong, the worship wasn’t right. Even though it looked good on the outside, it was totally out of order. God stops this charade and David goes home without the ark. The ark represents God’s presence and burden. it was to be carried by the priests and not a cart. If we desire the presence of God in our lives, we need to line up with God’s way of doing things, and not our own program. David will get the picture towards the end of this chapter and we will see Israel receive the joy of the Lord.
