Our devotion is in Psalm 16:1-2 which says,” PRESERVE me, O God, for in You I put my trust. O my soul, you have said to the Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from you. King David was a gifted and handsome young man and because of that and his ability to win wars he had a lot of enemies. At one point even his son Absalom was after him. What should we do when the enemy comes after us? Become like David, do not try and fight your own wars. Get at the feel of Almighty God and ask Him to preserve you because like verse 2 says, our goodness is nothing apart from God. David had an army of men, but he did not depend on them, he depended on God and whatever we might have, whether it’s money, friends, a safe place, don’t look to that, look to the Lord just like David did. We used to sing a song years ago in church that said, When the Spirit of the Lord moves in my heart I will sing like David sang. will pray like David prayed. Let’s follow good examples and we will be victorious!
