Our devotion today is called, ” A firm foundation ” Psalm 104:5 says, “You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever. Without a firm foundation a house will begin to fall apart. Walls will crack, even the cement will begin to crack. The only problem with our world today is sin. Romans 8:22 says, For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs until now. And that is because of sin. Matthew 7:24 Jesus said, Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. The Rock is Jesus, 1st Corinthians 10:4. Unless we build our house on the Rock Jesus Christ and follow His teaching our lives will be full of cracks and pitfalls that take us into places we don’t want to be. A firm foundation can only be found in Christ. It goes beyond believing, James 1:22 says, But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves, and James 2:19 says, You believe that there is one God, You do well, Even the demons believe and tremble! God wants us to live our life in Christ. That is where the firm foundation is.
