Our devotion is called, ” The pain of affliction ” Psalm 119:67 says, Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word. Have you ever noticed that children left to themselves usually end up being rebellious. A good parent will discipline their child and keep them in line. It might seem harsh at the time but in the long run they will thank you. Our heavenly Father is a good Father who will not let His children go astray. Hebrews 12:5-6. Psalm 119:67, Before I was afflicted I went astray says what we all experience. How many can say they were more rebellious before coming to Christ? And when we come to Christ we are filled with His Holy Spirit which gives us self-control, Galatians 5:22-23. The rebellion that once ruled us does not rule us anymore, Jesus does, and by reading His word we learn how to be Christ-like. The affliction might hurt for a moment but the results are well worth it.
