When my heart is overwhelmed I will look to You alone, God my Rock, God my Rock, God my Rock.

Our devotion today is called, ” Building on the Rock ” Psalm 127:1 says, Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchmen stay awake in vain. Any builder knows that to have a good building you must have a firm foundation. Psalm 89:14 says, Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face. The foundation of our faith rests in the hands of our Lord Jesus and we are as secure as can be. By trusting Christ we put ourselves on a foundation that can’t be moved. Jesus sums this up in Matthew 7:24-27, Therefore whoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall. Building on the Rock will secure you and your house, keep on serving Jesus.
