A bit salty
Howdy from Texas. I will not be going live tonight because me and Tina are going to see our boy Jo James at the Haut spot in Cedar Park. Pray for a safe flight for Jo and his bass player Eli, they are flying back from Chicago today.
Our devotion on this Wednesday is called, ” A bit salty ” Matthew 5:13 says, You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses it’s flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled under foot of men. Salt sure makes food taste better and our speech is to be that way. Colossians 4:6 says, Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt. It’s amazing how too much salt can ruin a meal. And too much salt in our speech can ruin a relationship. In the times that Jesus spoke these words they would use salt in the streets to hold down the dust and also like today to preserve food. We are the salt of the earth but we must learn not to be too salty or too sweet. A bit salty can chase people away from Jesus, and a bit sweet can make an unbeliever think they are okay. Lets just be truthful in all we do and say, and do it in love.
Have a blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
