Pray for rain in California. Pray for help to come quickly. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this tragedy.

Our devotion is called “A troubled world” John 16:33 says, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. It seems like there is one tragedy after another in our world today. Palestine Ohio, Maui, The withdrawal from Afghanistan, North Carolina and now the California fires that are the worst in history. Romans 8:22 says, For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. God relates it all to a woman’s birth pains which start getting closer together as the child is about to be born. We have always had fires, storms and all but they are coming more rapidly as the day of the LORD approaches. The best thing any of us could do at this point and time is to draw close to God. James 4:8, Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Tragedy will either cause you to cling to God or run from Him. The worst thing we can do is turn our back on God because He is the one who can pull us through. He brought Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego through the fire, He brought Israel through the red sea, and He raised Jesus from the dead. He is able, Ephesians 3:20. All I can say is pray, pray, pray! For California and also for all those we’ve mentioned. And pray for my niece Christine Barrios, they lost their house in the fire this week, Perilous times, 2nd Timothy 3:1.
