Anyway I pray you all have a blessed weekend and the title of our devotion on this Friday October 16th is ” Above All ” Colossians chapter three and verse 14 says, But above all these things put on love, Which is the bond of perfection. Why does the Bible say above all these, Verses 12 and 13 has a lot of good things in it. Tender mercies, Kindness, Humility, Meekness, Long suffering, Bearing with one another, And forgiving one another and yet love is above them all! I believe the reason is, Is because without love we cannot do any of these things. Larry Norman wrote a song years ago and the verses went like this, Without love you ain’t nothing You ain’t nothing without love, Without love you ain’t nothing Without love. 1st Corinthians Chapter 13 and verse 13 says, And now abide faith, Hope, Love, These three; But the greatest of these is love. The Beatles sang years ago, All you need is love And then they broke up. There is a love of this world that will only lead you to despair and discouragement but the love of God will lead you into green pastures and into a peace that surpasses all understanding. So, Above all these things put on love, Which is the bond of perfection. Love one another, Care for each other just like Jesus said In Matthew chapter 22 verses 36 through 39, One of the Pharisees asked Jesus’ teacher, Which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said to him, You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, With all your soul, And with all your mind. This is the first and great command. And the second is just like it; Ye shall love your neighbor as yourself. So above everything is love! Have a blessed weekend.
