Our devotion on this Thursday is called, ” Believe and receive”. Proverbs Chapter 24 and verse 7 says, wisdom is too lofty for a fool; He does not open his mouth in the gate. Psalm chapter 14 and verse one says the fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. The things of God such as prayer, The word of God, And insight to the Word of God are beyond the reach of the unbeliever unless they repent. That’s why this verse says wisdom is too lofty for a fool. Wisdom would be God’s word applied to our life and an unbeliever cannot do that which is a really sad statement. When it says he does not open his mouth in the gate It is talking about a place where they would hold court. Remember in the book of Ruth Boaz went to the gate of the city to do business in order to get Ruth as his wife. Remember Lot, he would sit at the gate of Sodom and Gomorrah because he had been raised up as a leader. 1st Corinthians chapter two and verse 14 says but the natural man does not receive the things of the spirit of God For they are foolishness to him; Nor can he know them, Because they are spiritually discerned and verse 15 says But he who is spiritual judges all things Yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. So the wisdom of God is too lofty for a fool But that does not mean that that fool cannot repent and begin to learn the wonderful things of God.
