Good day to you all and thank you to everyone who came on our live feed last night. We will be doing our devotions out of sermon on the mount, Matthew 5-7 for a while.

Our devotion today is called, ” BLESSED ” Matthew 5:3 says, Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Sermon on the mount is the longest recorded sermon of our Lord. It starts with Blessed are the poor in spirit. A description of someone who has given their life to Jesus and are humbled by God’s grace and forgiveness. It is the opposite of pride and arrogance which God will resist, 1st Peter 5:5, God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble. Poor in spirit is a good thing because it is what God desires of us, to be transformed into the image of Jesus, Philippians 2:7, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. Jesus humbled Himself and we should do the same. Blessed are the poor in spirit, those who have humbled themselves under the mighty hand of God, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven, that is great news.
