Happy Friday and I pray you all have a blessed weekend.

” For the love of God ” is the name of our devotion today ” 2nd Corinthians 5:14 says, For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus; that if One died for all, then all died. V 15, and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. O the pain that comes from not putting God first and then others. The love of Christ is what compels us to go the extra mile, to love our enemies, to do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. To truly love is to put aside us and put on Christ and the only way that will happen is to Deny yourself, pick up your cross and follow Christ, Luke 9:23. The Apostle Paul knew what this was like when he wrote down these words in 2nd Corinthians 5:14-15. Do you know what it’s like to deny yourself in the midst of life as others may treat you badly and you continue to do good to them? Paul wrote in Philippians 3:10, that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death. There is no way we can do this apart from Christ, but we know Philippians 4:13 says, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Thank you Lord.
