Our Devotion Today is called, ” Husbands love your wives ” Colossians chapter three and verse 18 says, Husbands, Love your wives and do not be bitter toward them. Years ago Tina and I and our boy Joe went to Israel. On one of the days David Hocking took us out to lunch And there was a table with Muslim men next to us and David stood up and went over and asked them very loudly, Why do you treat your women so bad? In the Christian faith it is just the opposite of what the Muslims do with their wives. Ephesians Chapter 5 and verse 25 it says, Husbands, Love your wives, Just as Christ also loved the Church and gave Himself for her. That is a love that will sacrifice their life And that’s how our God says we should love our wives. Proverbs 18:22 says, He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. One of the better husbands that I have ever seen is my son in law Jerick James Foster. He loved his wife and he loved his children and provided for them and treated them all like they’re supposed to be treated. As men of God We should not only love our wives but we should never be bitter towards them. Christ is our example! He loves us even when we are unlovable. He is always there for us, Hebrews chapter 13 verse 5. He forgives us whenever we ask, 1st John 1:9. And Jesus went as far as dying for us on the cross. Put on love, Which is the bond of perfection. Then let’s put a smile on God’s face. I think it’s kind of funny that the Bible doesn’t tell women to love their husbands as God loves the church and I think it’s because women have love towards their husbands already. So us men are a little bit hard headed and we need to be told to love and that’s OK. We need to be reminded that’s fine. But let’s do it, Let’s love our wives as Christ loved the Church! And today is 4 months since Jerek James Foster, my son in law went home to be with Jesus.
