” Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe ” Is the title of our devotion today. Colossians 2:14 says, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us, And has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Jesus said in Matthew 5:17, Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. The handwriting of requirements is the law. And the law is good but we cannot keep them, we fail miserably. James 2:10 says, For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. Those people that try and keep the ;law to please God are setting themselves up for disappointment. Romans 2:14-15 says, for when the gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves. who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them. The Holy Spirit now works in us Ephesians 2:1-2 and we can follow after God and be pleasing to Him because of Jesus going to the cross and paying for our sin debt. Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.
