The title of our devotion today is called, ” Learning to submit ” Colossians 3:17 says, “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Ephesians 5:21 says, Submitting to one another in the fear of God. These both are military terms and it says there has to be an authority. In the military there are plenty of privates that are smarter than a general but the general is the authority. Submission shows respect toward the other person. Learning to submit is to humble yourself before the other person, 1st Peter 5:5 says, God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble. It is also a great example to each other and others. Wives submit doesn’t mean they are a doormat to be stepped on and treated like a slave because Ephesians 5:25 says Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church. If a husband loves his wife like that she will be glad to submit and he will be glad to submit to her. Let’s all learn this valuable lesson because it pleases God. Tomorrow will be 4 months since my son in law Jerek passed and it still hurts. Please continue to pray for us.
