Happy cinco de mayo and many more. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Our devotion today is called, ” Magnifying God’s word ” Psalm 138:2 says, “I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and truth, For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. To magnify something is to make it bigger and easier to see. The Bible says, The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe, Proverbs 18:10. If we are safe in the name of the LORD then we are more safe in the word of the LORD. Why? Because God’s word is a lamp and a light to us. It guides the path that we are on, shows us what God loves and hates. We have no idea what tomorrow brings but God does and His word will guide us through the storms of this life. We need to put a magnifying glass on God’s word and see exactly what it says to us. It’s called studying to show ourselves approved, 2nd Timothy 2:15. Since God magnifies His word above His name, we should also magnify His word in our lives each and every day. Hebrews 4:12 says, For the word of God is alive and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. God is amazing, His name and His word are so awesome. Put a spotlight on God’s word today.
