Our devotion out of the psalms this morning is called, ” My prayer ” Psalm 88:2 says, Let my prayer come before You; Incline Your ear to my cry. This psalm is unique in the fact that it is the only Psalm in which the outpouring of the burdened heart of the psalmist to God fails to bring relief or consolation. The writer is Herman the Ezrahite which we know nothing of. It tells us that even in times when it seems God is far away we must trust in His word. He is for us, not against us, Romans 8:31. He will never leave us, nor forsake us, Hebrew 13:5. God loves us, John 3:16. So why doesn’t God answer right away sometimes? I believe the answer is, He wants us to seek Him. He is not playing hard to get because He already has us. He is doing this for our own good, that we would drop everything else and seek His face. My prayer is as important to God as anyone else’s prayer. My prayer is something God longs to hear, And my prayer is what helps me through the day and night. My prayer does come before His throne, and He does incline His ear to me because He loves me and you.
