Daily Devotion

O come all you faithful

Good day to you all, and we are just a week away from Christmas Eve and also tomorrow is my beautiful wife Tina Lewis’s birthday. Tonight we will be going live at 8:00 Texas time and I am going to change it up a little bit and do Christmas songs and do a Christmas message Free Indeed style.

Our devotion this morning is called, ” O come all you faithful ” This Christmas song originated as a Latin hymn Adeste Fideles, First published by English Catholic music copyist John Francis Wade around 750 to 760 after he fled the Jacobite rebellion to France, though its exact author remains debated, with some crediting King John the 4th of Portugal. The familiar English version came much later, with translations by priests like Frederick Oakley, solidifying it as a beloved Christmas Carol. In Galatians chapter five and verse 22 one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is faithfulness. The faithful of the Lord are those who will receive the blessings from God and in this Carol it speaks of come, come to Christ and that’s what we need to do during this holiday season because so often during this season we can find ourselves feeling down or depressed or hurting because of a situation losing a loved one or whatever it might be but come you faithful of the Lord and sit at the Lord’s feet and receive comfort. O come let us adore Him! O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant, O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem, come and behold Him, born the King of angels.

Have a blessed day, God is in control, and remember that Jesus loves you!
