Our devotion today is called, “There is a hereafter”, Proverbs Chapter 23 and verse 18 says, for surely there is a hereafter, and your hope will not be cut off. In the midst of what we are going through out here in Texas, it’s very encouraging to come upon this verse that lets us know or maybe just reminds us that this is not it. And even though we know that there is a place called heaven and if we believe that is where we go when we pass from this life, it still hurts on this side of heaven. Eric Clapton wrote the song “No More Tears in Heaven” when his little boy passed away. Jeremiah Chapter 29 verses 11 through 13 says, for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, Thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. We search for God more through hard times than any other time and so often God allows these hard times to draw those of us to Him that normally wouldn’t be drawn to Him. The pain is real and so is heaven. We can’t forget that there is a hereafter or a latter end. There is a place called Heaven and for those of us who want to go there, We will! When we all get to heaven, What a day of rejoicing that will be. When we see Jesus, we’ll sing and shout the victory.
