Up, up, and away
Happy Friday to you all from Texas.
“up, up, and away ” is the title of our devotion today. 1st Thessalonians 4:16 says, For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. There are many today who don’t believe in the rapture and that is fine but I do and I will tell you why. First the word rapture doesn’t appear in the Bible. it comes from a Latin word that translated into English is rapture. Because the word rapture is not in the Bible does not mean that the idea is not there because it is. Here in 1st Thessalonians 4 and 1st Corinthians 15:51-52. These verses tell us something is going to happen with God’s people that is way beyond the normal. In Revelation 4:1 it says, After these things I looked, What things? The chapters before are the church age, Chapters 2 and 3. So after the church age it says and behold a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this. The church is not mentioned again until the end of the great Tribulation. This is the rapture of the church. Daniel 9:24-27 speaks of this time and when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on that donkey it fulfilled the first 483 years of the 470 which left a 7 year period and that is what is called the great tribulation period. Be ready, Matthew 24:42.
Have a blessed weekend and go to church on Sunday. Remember that Jesus loves you!
