” Face value ” Is the title of our devotion today. 2nd Corinthians chapter 5 verse 8 says, we are confident, yes well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. This scripture says that when we pass from this life, We will be face to face with Jesus Christ. We get the saying face value from the 1850s when currency was used Because of the face on the bills And then it was used to accept things as they are which is where we get the saying face value. Obviously God saw something in us that was of some value. Because he went to great lengths to reach out to His creation and we all know the verse John chapter three and verse 16, For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever should believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. I am so glad that even though God knows my failures and my doubts He still loves me and accepts me. We could say that he accepts us at face value, He knows who we are, He knows where we’ve been, He knows the bad things that we do before we do them And yet he still loves us forgives us and wants us to go to heaven. To me that is just simply amazing. Like the worship song Come Just As You are. That’s what God says to us: Come as you are and He takes us as we are and then He begins to clean us up and mold us into the image of His Son Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord for the wonderful work you’ve done and for the wonderful work you’re doing and for the wonderful work you’re going to do!
