Finish the race with joy
Good Monday morning or afternoon. Today marks 22 years since my twin brother Pastor Mike graduated into glory and into the presence of Jesus.
Our title is ” finish the race with joy ” I would like to quote what’s on a plaque next to me in my office It goes like this, Pastor Mike speaking, as a pastor my greatest reward here on planet Earth is to see people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior Of course this would not have the great effect if they did not follow through and become disciples of Christ. As followers of Christ our responsibility is to love one another as He has loved us. The Bible says that By this shall all men know your my disciples. By your love one for another. My personal belief is that if we love one another the way that God says to, the church will Then be what God intended it to be. A reflection of Him. In first John four 7 through 8 it says, beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone that loves is born of God, and knows God. He that loves not knows not God, for God is love. Truly, sound doctrine is essential, prayer and worship are a great and wonderful privilege. But love is the sign given by God that we are his children. In His service, pastor Mike Lewis, His last sermon was September 21st, 2003 in Second Timothy chapter 4 verses 6 through 9. Which says, For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. 22 years ago was the hardest day of my life but now I know God is in control even in death and I look forward to seeing my dear brother again. Pray for the family today. Love you all from Texas.
Have a blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
