” Hardship ” Is the title of our devotion today. 2nd Timothy 2:3 says, You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Don’t Ever tell people to come to Jesus because life will be a lot easier. Because it is not easier in the sense that we are fighting a spiritual battle once we come to Jesus. That’s why in Ephesians chapter six it tells us to put on the whole armor of God. In one sense it is much easier because we have an awesome wonderful savior that walks us through each battle and comforts us through the power of His Holy Spirit. On the other hand we begin to go against the grain against the flow of things and the battle is much harder because we no longer go along with the flow of this world. This passage in Second Timothy, it also calls us athletes and farmers and each of these things takes a lot of work. We do not work for our salvation, we are saved by grace through faith but we do work for the by prayer and supplication and fighting against evil on our knees. And even though sometimes the battle is hard like Paul said in Romans chapter eight verse 18, the suffering of this present time is not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in US. Our hardship is for a moment but the glory is forever.
