Good day and thank you to everybody that came on to Youtube last night. You are an encouragement.

Our Devotion on this Thursday is called, ” He is the head of the church ” Colossians chapter one and verse 18 says, And He is the head of the body, The Church, Who is the beginning, The first born from the dead, That in all things He may have the preeminence. Who is this person called Jesus? In verse 17 it says that He holds everything together, consist meaning just that. And in verse 18 it talks about the church. So Jesus Christ is the one that holds the church of God together and keeps it alive and thriving. The hope that the Lord gives us by being raised from the dead is the greatest hope here on planet Earth. Because death is the biggest fear among people and when death comes into your family it wipes everybody out. But here at verse 18 Jesus is the head over the church and the first born from the dead. He is the first to be raised from the dead and still has His body that He was raised with. That was over 2000 years ago. So there is coming a day according to First Thessalonians chapter 4:16 that all the dead will be raised. Their earthly bodies will be raised and transformed into a heavenly body 1st Corinthians Chapter 15:40-44. He is first in the Church and he is first in the resurrection and we should put him first in our life. Jesus is the first and the last, Revelation chapter 1 verse 8 Jesus says I am the Alpha and the Omega, The beginning and the end, Says the Lord, Who is and who was and who is to come the Almighty and in verse 17 and 18 Jesus goes on to say do not be afraid; I am the first of the last. I am He who lives, And was dead, And behold, I’m alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of death. If Jesus is not first then He is not anything in your life in verse 18 of Colossians 1 it says that He may have the preeminence that means that He is first. He’s alive again, The stone has been rolled away, He’s alive again, He’s no longer where he laid, He’s alive again, Let all the people say, Let all the earth rejoice He’s alive.
