Good day to you all from Texas. And Let’s Pray, Heavenly Father we ask that you would surround us with your love and help us Lord to keep looking up for our redemption draws near. We don’t know the day nor the hour but we do know the times and the seasons and they are here. So Lord we turn to you this day and ask for your guidance and your protection and your direction in Jesus name Amen.

Our devotion today is called, ” Jesus is the Lord from heaven ” Colossians chapter One and verse 15 says, He is the image of the invisible God, The firstborn over all creation. Starting in verse 13 of this chapter Paul begins to speak about Jesus. When he says He is the image the word means literal image. Jesus said the same thing in John chapter 14 and verse nine when He said to Philip, Have I been with you so long, And yet you have not known me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father, So how can you say, Show us the father? Paul goes on to say in verse 15 that Jesus is the first born over all creation. Jehovah’s Witnesses would say this proves that He is created. But the same word is used in verse 18 of this chapter when it says He is the first born from the dead. Was Jesus the first born from the dead? The answer is no. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead and in the Gospel of Luke he rose another young man from the dead and in the Old Testament Elijah prayed over a young child and the child rose from the dead So the word here actually means a unique one. In Revelation chapter one and verse 5 it says, And from Jesus Christ, The faithful witness, The first born from the dead, And the ruler over the kings of the earth. To him who loved us and watched us from our sins in His own blood. Jesus is unique in the sense that he rose from the dead and He is still alive to this day. Everybody else that was raised from the dead died again. One more verse 1st Corinthians Chapter 15:47 says, The first man was of the earth, Made of dust; This speaks of Adam. The Second is the Lord from heaven, This speaks of Jesus. There are so many verses that tell us Jesus is the Lord from heaven, Hebrews 1:6-8, John 8:58 and because He is we need to look to Him in these crazy days we’re living in because He is the answer to everything. He is the way to heaven and He is the way to a peace that surpasses all understanding.
