” No place like home ” Is the title of our devotion today. In the Gospel of John chapter 14 verses one through three it says, let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again, and receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. Every child of God has a desire in their heart to see God and to be with God personally. Not that we would rush that experience but that we desire a better place and that place is heaven which every believer calls home. Jesus spoke these words right after telling Peter that Peter would deny him three times. God gives us comforting words but he also speaks the truth to us and lets us know in this world we’re gonna have a lot of trouble But he told us to be of good cheer because he has overcome this world. There is life beyond Earth whether people want to believe it or not and we are going to either one place or another. The way things are looking in this world today, God could come at any minute and take his children home. Or at the same time we could pass away, we have no idea when our appointment with death is. We all love our homes, to get home from work and relax, get something out of the refrigerator Sit back and enjoy the roof over our head. Like in the movie, The wizard of Oz, Dorothy would say there’s no place like home and that is so true here on Earth and in heaven. I have as many friends and family now in heaven as I do here on earth and I sure do miss them dearly. There’s no place like home slash heaven and someday we will get to see that beautiful beautiful place that Jesus has prepared for us, those who follow him!
