Our devotion today is called, “ preaching Jesus “ . In Colossians chapter 1 verse 28 it says, whom we preach, warning every man and teaching, every man in all wisdom, That we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus . The apostle Paul who wrote this was a man who was concerned about the souls of people. He was warning, or it could be said, counseling, everyone that he could about Jesus and who Jesus is. Not all of us are called to preach the gospel out on the streets or from the pulpit, but we are called to live it in our homes and to those around us. Like one old Pastor said years ago, preach the gospel and when you have to use words. The best preaching we can do is living a good lifestyle that loves people and is a good example to follow after. To present somebody perfect in Christ is to lead them into a place of maturity. How do we do that? By teaching them the word of God and living it before them. We all as born again Christians have that responsibility to be that example around those that are closest to us. To share the word of God, and to be an example, and to give glory to God for everything. Preaching Jesus? Can mean a lot of different things. Such as doing a good job at work. Being a good example to a friend who doesn’t know the Lord. Being a light shining to your enemy, somebody that doesn’t like you. In other words, living the gospel. Always remember I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
