Good day to you all and tonight we will be going live at 6:00 PM California Time 8:00 PM Texas time and we are continuing our study in the book of Acts Chapter 7.

Our devotion on this Wednesday is called, ” Quick to listen and slow to speak “Proverbs chapter 18 and verse 13 says he who answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him. Making a decision when you haven’t talked to both sides about the issue is not a wise thing to do because there’s a lot of people who are holding grudges against somebody and will say things about them that might be a half truth or a complete lie. Before he hears it, I believe that is saying before he hears the whole thing and has time to examine what has been said. We are living in a time where people make rash decisions and people are lumped into one bunch, if one person does something everybody’s guilty. The Book of James chapter one at verse 19 says, so then, my brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. I think many of us have made decisions on issues too quickly in our life and this verse is telling us not to do that. The last part of this verse says it is folly and shame to him or to her. And why is that? Because you will be proven wrong in your decision and have egg on your face so to speak. So it’s a very good thing to hear both sides of the story before we make a decision. Especially if the person telling us is speaking horribly about a person and not thinking twice about saying ugly things about them, then that person that is speaking might be the one that has the problem. So, Don’t be too quick to answer a situation but be slow to speak and quick to listen.
