Should we judge
Good day to all my friends and family out there. I pray you have a blessed day. Please continue to pray for our country and the midterms that are coming up. These could be the most important midterms of our lives.
Our Devotion on this Tuesday is called, ” Should we judge? ” Colossians Chapter Two verses 16 and 17 says, So let no one judge you in food or drink, Or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths, Which are a shadow of things to come, But the substance is of Christ. In the times this was written Paul was speaking to the Christians who were being judged by the religious Jews and we remember in Acts chapter 10 that God declared all food clean. And Mark chapter 2 and verse 27 Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. So the Christian people at this time were being judged for not obeying the rules of man. Jesus said in Matthew 7 and verse one, judge not, that you be not judged. This word judge here means to condemn and we are not to condemn anybody. Why? Because we have no idea who is going to heaven and who’s going to hell. That’s not our business according to Romans Chapter 10 and verses 6 and 7. But we are to examine right and wrong which is in 1st Corinthians chapter two And verse 15 it says, But he who is spiritual judges all things, Yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. We don’t have the problem today of Colossians chapter two verses 16 and 17 but we do have a problem of judging things that we don’t know. We should be careful about passing judgment unless we know that we know! Wouldn’t it be better to love one another and care for each other and forgive one another? I think it would! How about you? Let’s practice John chapter 13 and verse 35 which says, By this all will know that you are my disciples, If you have love for one another.
Love you all from Texas and please continue to pray for my daughter Melanie and her mother in law Fran and for our family for healing and please pray for the building department to get our plans approved quickly so we can get our new building up. And always remember that Jesus loves you!
