Good day to everybody. Thank you to those who came on last night to the live feed on Youtube pastor Mark3580. If I look at my past too much I will become discouraged but when I look into the future I know heaven waits for me where Jesus is and so many of my friends and family.

” The hope of heaven ” Is the title of our devotion today . Colossians chapter one and verse 5 says, Because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, Of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel. Paul had just spoken of giving thanks in verse 3 and faith and love in verse four and now in verse five he speaks of hope. There’s a story of a city that was built under a dam and the dam began to crack So they told the people they had to get out as quickly as possible. The homes that were once kept up and looking nice began to look run down with the lawns growing long and weeds in the garden And the reason was because there was no hope there any longer. The word hope means an anticipation or an expectation and for us who love God and believe in God our hope is heaven. In this life we can be torn down, Discouraged, Frustrated, Lied to, And this all starts at a very early age. The Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians chapter three and verse 13, Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; But one thing I do, Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. 14, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Leaving the past behind does not mean we completely forget about it but it does mean that we don’t live there any longer and to realize that we have a future and a hope, Jeremiah chapter 29 and verse 11. Let’s end this with what Jesus said in John chapter 14 and verses 2-3, In my father’s house are many mansions; If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, That where I am, You may be also. Jesus went to prepare this place called heaven for those who believe and that is where we are going when we pass from this life, if we believe in God. What a great hope the believer has and Jesus proved how real He is by raising from the dead on the 3rd day.
