Up in arms

Good day to everybody. Today marks three weeks since my great nephew David Lewis has been missing. Please continue to pray for his safe return.

” Up in arms ” Is the title of our devotion today. Ephesians Chapter 6 verse 11 says put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the Wiles of the devil. The phrase up in arms originated from the literal act of taking up weapons For armed rebellion in the 1500s. As Christians we can use the title up in arms to say that we are putting on the whole armor of God to fight against the Wiles of the devil. It is a battle that has already been won by Jesus but we have to keep our guard up because the devil never stops trying to trip us up just like he did with Jesus in Luke Chapter 4 when he tempted him. And he doesn’t change much because he tempts us with a lot of the same temptations. So how do we put on the armor of God? That would probably take a little while to explain but to do it quickly, To gird your waist with truth and to put on righteousness means to live a pure life, Having Shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace is saying have Jesus in your heart everywhere you go, above all take the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench the fiery darts of the wicked One says without faith it’s impossible to please God, And take the helmet of salvation which is protecting your thoughts and the sword of the Spirit which is knowing the word of God. We need to be protected in these last days and the best way we can be protected is by staying close to Jesus through and study of his word and prayer. Whether we realize it or not we are in a spiritual battle and the battle belongs to the Lord. Don’t ever think you’re in this alone because you’re not. First of all we have our Lord who will never leave us nor forsake us, Hebrews 13 5. And secondly we have a whole lot of brothers and sisters who go through the same struggles and trials.

Love you guys from Texas have a blessed weekend and always remember that Jesus loves you!
