A peace that surpasses all understanding
Good Monday morning to you all and we are already over 4 months into 2026, my how time is flying by.
Our devotion is called, ” A peace that surpasses all understanding ” Proverbs chapter 16 and verse 7 says, when a man’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. There is a peace that is not from God, 1st Thessalonians chapter 5 and verse 3 says for when they say, peace and safety! Then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. This is speaking of a false peace which many people will accept in many different ways. But the peace that is spoken of in Proverbs is a peace that comes from God Almighty. And it comes from pleasing the Lord. It almost sounds impossible that our enemies would be at peace with us but remember what Jesus said in Matthew Chapter 5 Verses 43 through 45, says, you have heard that it was said, you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies, Bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, And pray for those who spitefully use and persecute you. That you may be sons of your Father in heaven; For He makes His sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. Jesus showed this kind of love when he walked this earth especially from the cross when he cried out Father forgive them for they know not what they do. And Stephen when he was being stoned to death cried out the same thing and this could only be done by the power of the Holy Spirit. I guess it comes down to wanting to please the Lord! If we truly want to please our God then we’re not going to do things that might go against our flesh like feeling good by saying something bad or doing something bad. It is going to be much harder to deny our flesh and love somebody that is truly unlovable. But remember what the Bible says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, Philippians 4:13. When a man’s ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Let’s at least give it a try huh. With God all things are possible, Mark chapter 10 verse 27.
Have a blessed day and please continue to pray for our leadership in our country and our military and for Israel for complete victory and always remember that Jesus loves you!
