Our devotion on this Wednesday is called, ” Does God hate? ” Proverbs Chapter 6 verse 16 through 18 says, these six things the LORD hates, yes 7 are an abomination to Him, A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil. If God hates these things then we should hate them too! I believe our problem is separating the sin from the sinner and we have a tendency to hate the person when they show these attributes. Anybody that would practice any of these things does not have a good walk with Jesus because when we are filled with the Holy Spirit and we are close to the Lord we have what is called, The conviction of the Holy Spirit and through the conviction of the Holy Spirit God will stop us from practicing any things like this. When I first came to Jesus all those years ago I believe I had every one of these things in Proverbs chapter 6 starting in verse 16 and little by little God began to chip away at all the bad in my life, not that I’m perfect, far from it but I thank God I’m not what I used to be and I pray to God that I could become better than what I am today through the power of the Holy Spirit. If you have any of these six things in your life run to Jesus and ask him to help you with it and He will, I know because He helped me overcome these six horrible sins.
