CRUCIFIED
Good day to you all and our devotion on this rainy Texas day is called, ” CRUCIFIED “.
Galatians chapter two and verse 20 says, I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. To be identified with crucifixion is not the most popular thing to do but to a born again believer it is a must. Jesus said in the Gospel of Luke chapter nine and verse 23, if anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, pick up his cross daily, and follow Me. To be crucified with Christ is to be dead to self. How easy is that? Well it’s not very easy because we are still alive in our flesh and Paul speaks of this in Romans 7:17-25. I was ministering to a young man some time back and I remember talking to him about going up to a coffin and insulting the person in it. And I told him you can go up and make fun of him and say ugly things. Whatever, but there won’t be any response because that man or woman is no longer there. Now nobody in their right mind would ever do something like that but the analogy is that we are supposed to be dead to self. And a dead person does not have to defend themselves to anyone and they do not get offended. This verse says it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me? Christ lives in me? What does that mean? It means that we should start taking on the personality and the attributes of Jesus Christ. In the book of Philippians chapter two in verse 7, speaking of Christ it says, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. I know that all of us will fail at being Christlike but don’t allow your failure to keep you down. Get back up and fight the good fight of faith and lay hold of eternal life and run the race with endurance and some day we will hear, well done good and faithful servant.
Have a blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
