The piercings of a sword

Good day to you all and I am asking that you pray for my son Jason and his wife Michelle, they are flying out here to Texas today to spend a few days with us. Thank you.

Our devotion on this Thursday is called, ” The piercings of a sword “. Proverbs Chapter 12 and verse 18 says, there is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health. Years ago I heard a man give a message and he talked about going into a prison and speaking to a young man who was a gang member and this young man told the older man You have no idea what I’ve been through. He lifted up his shirt and showed him bullet wounds and stab wounds and the older man asked the young man, Did it hurt? And the older man said, after I said that I thought what a stupid thing to say. But the young man said something very interesting, he said not until the next day. And more often than not that is the way it is with our words. It might not hurt on the day that it was said, but once it sinks in it’s going to begin to hurt badly. Our words can cause serious damage in the heart of a person or like the end of this verse says it can promote health. That doesn’t mean we lie to somebody about things to make them feel better, but it does mean that we speak the truth in love and that we speak to people in a way that causes them to draw closer to God and not away from God. Let’s not be a piercing sword to somebody when we speak but let us be a voice that promotes health by speaking the truth in love, Ephesians chapter 4 verse 15 says, speaking the truth in love, You may grow up in all things into Him who is the head-Christ. Which promotes health to the soul. There is one who speaks like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health.

Have a wonderful blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
