The sweetness of sin
Good morning and happy Thursday to you all.
Our devotion on this day is called, ” The sweetness of sin ” Proverbs Chapter 9 verses 17 and 18 say, Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of hell. The scriptures leading up to these are speaking of having a sexual relationship outside of marriage. Whether we like it or not God’s word is so clear that sex outside of marriage is a sin. Hebrews Chapter 13 and verse four says, marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. We cannot ignore the fact that God’s word is very clear about sexual immorality. If we love somebody enough we will want to treat them right and we will want to have a healthy relationship with them which means we will want to do what is right by God. God Himself officiated the first marriage in Genesis chapter two verses 18 through 25 and that is what God honors! I believe it was somewhere around the 1960s that people just began to sleep with one another and not be concerned about being married. And we see the relationships falling apart because God’s rules are taken out of the equation and it is the same with divorces even in the Church that the divorce rate is approximately 50% and that is a horrible statistic. If we Follow after God and His ways we will have a healthy marriage and relationship and I think that’s what everybody wants when you come right down to it. Stolen water is sweet and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he does not know that the dead are there and that her guests are in the depths of hell. That is a very sobering verse to say the least. Please don’t take this lightly if you’re in a relationship that is a sexual relationship outside of marriage Stop it. If someone catches fire the rule is to stop, drop and roll. And I think that’s good for somebody in a relationship like this Stop it! i hope this isn’t too harsh but it’s true.
Have a blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
